Leadership Programs

8th & 9th Graders
9-3pm (Extended services 7am - 6pm)

The summer of 2010 at Creative Themes features new and unique programs for 8th and 9th graders. (Note: Enrollment is limited to 4 weeks of programming for this age group. For more information call the camp office.) Teens may decide one program is more their style or that they would like to try a few different ones. All programs will allow teens to develop and challenge their leadership skills. These programs will utilize “Adventure Based Programming”, Creative Themes' excellent Adventure Based staff, and 27 years of leadership programming.

LEADERSHIP WITH TED
Discover what it takes to be a leader. We will explore, through experiential activities and games, how individuals and groups learn, and how leaders can guide that process. We will investigate the differences between leaders who tell us what to do, and those who get us engaged to figure it out on our own. Come prepared to play, work, and discover with Ted Baumhauer, Ed.D., how you can become a better leader.

ADVENTURE CHALLENGE
A one week session of High ropes activities. The Challenge program will stress the individual leadership skills and the building of self-confidence. Although teambuilding and problem solving will be a part of this program, the individual challenges will be highly stressed.

The Counselor In Training (CIT) Program
(15 year olds)

This program prepares young adults for future work with children such as a career in education. Throughout the session, CITs will work on leadership, safety and skill development. The CIT works closely with an experienced counselor, under the direction of the Camp Director. CITs are responsible for performing defined tasks that will be reviewed and evaluated by the staff and directors.

At the age of 16, they are eligible for a position as a junior counselor (this is an eight week summer commitment). All applicants should write a letter to the directors expressing interest. Applicants will be screened from these letters.

2 four week sessions are available (no splitting weeks).
