Camp Activities

The Creative Themes program is made up of the following activities, for a fun-filled summer experience! Activities are tailored to suit all age levels, whether preschoolers or teens.

Themes: The creative blend of themes and camp activities make the Creative Themes summer program the “Best Camp Anywhere!”

Language Development: For preschoolers especially, our program integrates a wide range of stimulating texts with the natural outdoor environment of Creative Themes.

Wet Water Fun: Our trained staff teaches American Red Cross swimming lessons for all levels in our two pools. We also allow plenty of free time for creative water play or just “cooling off.” (Swim lessons during 2 week sessions only.)

Canoeing: Enjoy taking a canoe ride around our pond. Keep your eyes open for frogs and turtles!

New Games Activities: Our games are designed for everyone to participate, regardless of their sex, age, or size. We use foam and plastic for all games. When you play hard and enjoy yourself, you’re a winner!

Sports Nuts: If you can kick it, throw it, toss it, catch it, bounce it, juggle it . . . we’ve got it! Our soccer balls, softballs, kickballs, volleyballs, tether balls, and basketballs are always in motion. Try them all!

Performing Arts: The techniques are as varied as your moods. Theater, mime, clowning, juggling, and music are all possibilities. And our spacious “Bear Theater” is the perfect place to show your stuff.

Nature Study: Ponder the wonders of our ponds! We have rabbits, frogs, all types of fish, bugs, birds, plants, trees and flowers.

Arts: When has anyone ever told you to get your hands dirty? We encourage it! Come stir up the paints and twist a tangle of colorful materials to create something that is uniquely you!

Archery: Start with the basics — safety procedures, equipment knowledge and handling, rules and fundamentals. You never know who will be the next Robin Hood!

Fishing Fantasy: Fish in our pond for bass, bluegills, carp and bullheads. Experience the excitement of netting a turtle or frog! Learn the proper techniques of baiting and casting, and practice to your heart’s content using our “catch and release” approach to the sport of fishing. (Notice: $100 REWARD for the capture of “Big Louie”, 10 lb., 30 inch Carp!)

Team Challenge Course: A 16- station low element adventure program for campers of all ages and abilities. The course includes adventure games, initiative problems, trust activities and low-balance exercises. The uniqueness of this course provides an opportunity for everyone to participate, interact, and learn in a spirit of mutual support and cooperation.

Tower of Power: A 4-sided 28-foot rock climbing tower, plus ship’s mast net! Campers will use the tower to develop climbing skills while increasing self-confidence.

High Element Ropes Course: 12 element ropes course is an excellent compliment to the Team Challenge Course. Utilizing outdoor adventure programs, this course for 13 year old and older campers and staff is a great way to teach and experience teambuilding, problem solving, personal commitment and selfconfidence.
